"The Ancient and the Ultimate" Asimov wrote this essay for The Fantasy of Fantasy and Science Fiction and it appeared in the January 1973 issue.

Anthologized in The Tragedy of the Moon.

Apollo 17 The only Apollo mission with a night launch, Asimov went on a cruise to view the launch, along with other celebrities. He tells the story in "The Triumph of the Moon," June 1973, and "The Cruise and I", July 1973, both anthologized in The Tragedy of the Moon, 1973.
Aristarchus of Samos "About 250 BC, this Greek astronomer suggested a heliocentric universe.

Aristotle "About 340 BC," Asimov said in "The Triumph of the Moon", June 1973, Aristotle theorized that the Earth was made of four basic elements - earth, water, air and fire.
