| Warlock, dressed in a suit and with a foreign accent, finishes visiting Hermetico, and is left at the gate by his escort, Mr. Carson. He places a card in a slot and the gate opens automatically, and he returns to his Rolls Royce, as driven by Frug.
They return to the headquarters of SWORD, which is located in a building with a sign out front that says Northfield Clinic For Nervous Disorders.

Warlock returns to the Planning Room to see Monk and Nero Jones watching the bedroom of Amos Klein and his secretary. They're not working -- they've been dancing the jitterbug for two hours.
Encensed, Warlock runs into the room and tosses the records out the window. Simon points out that he can't work in such cramped conditions. Warlock agrees to allow Simon to go for a walk, but Miss Darling must remain inside.

Warlock watches from the Planning Room as Simon, Galaxy, and their escort Monk wander around the building. He suspects that the tour of the grounds may be giving him ideas, and so tells Frug that everyone should be on their toes that night.
And indeed, Simon and Miss Darling do escape that night, by turning on tapes of them snoring (in their individual rooms), and then digging a hole through the ceiling, while they are hidden by the canopied bed.
They make it to the car, and drive through the fence and out into freedom. However, as per SWORD, the ignition on the car goes out after 6 minutes. Simon and Miss Darling manage to climb out through the back of the car, and run cross-country, diverting into a swamp when they hear the sound of chasing dogs. They arrive at a cottage and beg for the use of a car, but SWORD arrives in the nick of time, dressed in the white uniforms of asylum attendants, and they take Simon and Miss Darling away.
