    Women pilots were actually a top draw at air shows, and sometimes made even more "appearance money" than male pilots did. (Which didn't help them when it came to applying for jobs in commercial aviation.)

    This cover is from the Tri-State Aircraft Show, held in Camden, NJ from April 18-26, 1930. (THe three states are Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania). April 22, 1930 was Women Pilots Day.
